School Resources Committee
Academic Recognition – Develop & implement quarterly themes for grade level recognition with guidance from Student Council & Administration.
Book Fair – Recruit Book Fair team, schedule volunteers, send volunteer reminder notices.
Bulletin Boards – Maintain info on bulletin boards with PTSA Exec Board & Administration’s direction.
Communications/Social Media – Develop and maintain the PTSA website and social media communication.
Copy Committee – Chair trains volunteer workers, establishes & maintains work schedules for Production Lab (copy room). Committee is responsible for making & distributing all school copies.
Foundation Liaison – Attend foundation meetings and then helps to communicate the Foundation's goals to our local PTSA executive members.
Media Center Volunteers – Chair coordinates volunteers to work shifts in Media Center during the day. Volunteers assist students with book checkout and computer-based searches, provide student monitoring.
School Store – Sell merchandise to students before school on assigned days.
School Culture Committee
Cultural Arts – Organize schoolwide activities for students to enjoy which highlight a specific culture, country, and time frame. Currently scheduled in Spring 2019.
Exceptional Children – Organize events to help connect families with information specific to Awtrey’s special needs population.
Reflections – Promote the art contest. Collect entries and assures guidelines were followed.
Hospitality – Help plan events for Teacher Appreciation Week and other special treats for teachers, during the year. Many volunteers are needed to send in food items, decorate for special events, and serve on occasion. Includes: Duty-free Lunch – Monitors students in the cafeteria, to allow teachers to enjoy a quiet lunch. We provide Duty Free Lunch once a month; look for the Sign Up Genius.
Family Spirit Nights – Promote family involvement with in-school and after school programs.
Spiritwear – Design spiritwear for fall meet & greet and Open House, order & maintain product levels for school events and the school store
Sunshine Committee – To recognize significant events which occur in the lives of faculty and staff and to provide for opportunities for the faculty and staff to experience fun.
Watch DOGS – Promote male role model coming to school to help with carpool, help with duty free lunch, and assist in the Media Center.
Family Resources Committee
Membership – Run PTSA membership drive; distribute membership cards and keep membership list current with state and national PTSA.
Grade-level Events – Plan and execute an afterschool event at Awtrey. We will need coordinator for each grade level. Many volunteers needed in addition to a chairperson.
Legislation and Advocacy – Keep Awtrey parents informed of all legislation regarding education.
Red Ribbon Week/Anti-Bullying – Coordinate activities during Red Ribbon Week. Promote Anti-Bullying campaign.
